Al-Qadim: Station and Backgrounds

Too long in the making, here is my playtest/WIP Backgrounds and Station module for my re-imagined Al-Qadim campaign world.

First you’ll find the rules for Station, adapted from the original Al-Qadim Station rules from the Arabian Adventures book. Then you’ll find a few new backgrounds, followed by information and tweaks of the regular backgrounds to fit them into Al-Qadim.

What does Age of Serpents mean, you might ask? The Age of Serpents is the working title for my re-imagined Al-Qadim campaign world. You can think of it as a sort of Ultimate Marvel take on the world. I love Al-Qadim, but quite a few things it contains I don’t like or think don’t fit for me personally. A lot of these are Western/European elements sort of stuck into it to make it fit D&D more. When I finish this project, I hope to have a newly realized Zakhara more deeply entrenched in the lore and myth of Arabia and its surrounding lands -while backing away from some of the ‘oriental fetishism’ present in the 2nd edition books.

These backgrounds and this document should work perfectly for anyone trying to run Al-Qadim in 5th edition D&D, however.
